What is konohanasakuya hime?

Konohanasakuya Hime is a Japanese goddess of Mount Fuji, fire, and volcanoes. She is also known as Konohanasakuyahime or Konohanasakuyahime no Mikoto.

According to Japanese mythology, Konohanasakuya Hime is the wife of Ninigi, the grandson of the sun goddess, Amaterasu. Konohanasakuya Hime is said to have accompanied Ninigi to Earth and is therefore also associated with fertility and agriculture.

In Japanese folklore, Konohanasakuya Hime is often depicted as a beautiful woman with long hair and cherry blossom petals falling around her. She is also associated with the season of spring and the cherry blossom tree.

Konohanasakuya Hime is revered in Shintoism and there are many shrines dedicated to her in Japan. One of the most famous shrines is the Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha, located at the base of Mount Fuji.
